Tori-Haku! “Czech-born Contemporary Puppets and Art Toys from KASUGA Akio Collection”
Hachioji Yume Art Museum was opened for the citizens to be familiar with arts and culture willingly.
In addition to special exhibitions about six times a year, permanent exhibitions centering on prints by writers who are related to Hachioji are undertaken.
At this dolls exhibition, works of Japanese artists Mr. Sota Sakuma and Ms. Yumi HAYASHI are displayed at the 1st exhibition room, and 2 works by Czech artists are displayed at the 2nd exhibition room.
Besides, there are things with illustrations up to hangers, pretty big things for puppetry, there are impressions (^ ^)
From the title of the exhibition and the explanation of the leaflet, it is apt to expect the Czech historical puppets to be displayed, but it is not such an exhibition (^ ^;)
In the gallery talk there was a remark that "I want you to feel handmade warmth made by cutting wood", so the main purpose is to see the color and shape of the dolls.

In the exhibition room, the movie actually moving the puppet is aired and the puppet shows different expression than when it is decorated quietly.
