Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha, which is operating it, is one of the leading maritime transport operators in Japan.

It is a corporate museum handled mainly by Nippon Yusen's company history.

However, it is an exhibition content that you can learn about the history from the dawn of Japan's ocean advancement.

Yataro Iwasaki and the founding period of shipping business, the birth of NYK Line and its development, luxury cruise ships, war, reconstruction, present…those theme are explained using moving images.

The hardships and passions of the people who struggled to establish the ocean line, such stories are dramatically talked about.

For Japan which was an island, sea routes were exactly the only way which led to the foreign country.

By the way, Hikawa Maru in Yamashita Park is seems to be the ship which traced the strange fate.

She actives as a hospital ship during the war, survives receiving an underwater mine three times, and has returned to a cargo-passenger ship again after the war.
